Kentucky Educational Television, (KET) has the following full-time position opening at its Lexington, Kentucky Network Center:
Used by more than two million people each week, KET is Kentucky’s only statewide media organization, and broadcasts into 8 states and 10 media markets, along with providing live and archived streaming services. In addition to offering high-quality PBS programming, KET annually produces hundreds of hours of award-winning local productions and creates nationally recognized educational resources.
This is a unique opportunity to work with an outstanding, respected, and trusted public media team, and to support a wide variety of public affairs and general productions, including Kentucky’s only nightly statewide news program, six locally produced series, and ongoing special programs.
As the Corporate Services Coordinator for the Commonwealth Fund for KET, you will assist in advancing an integrated corporate fundraising program that secures and grows on-air, matching grant, digital and community partnerships in support of KET’s mission.
KET’s facilities are located in beautiful “horse country” with a thriving community that offers affordable living, outstanding educational opportunities, and world class sporting events. Our ideal Candidate will:
Provide support for corporate fundraising, including prospect research, inventory tracking, data entry, traffic management, marketing, broadcast production and donor stewardship.
Use all available resources to identify viable corporate prospects for both statewide on-air program sponsorships (underwriting), matching grants and regional event partnerships.
Track broadcast program inventory and renewal timelines/term expirations. Coordinate underwriting contracts with external stakeholders then, using a station-wide traffic system, ensure the accurate and time-sensitive broadcast placement of sponsor acknowledgements.
Prepare regular donor communications such as acknowledgments, affidavits, tax letters, invoices and payment reminders. Complete monthly financial reporting/reconciliation with the Business Office.
Utilize internal database to accurately maintain all donor records such as contacts, codes, mailings, gift agreements, acknowledgements, benefits, prospect research, and other. Ensure records are updated in adherence to internal procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
Work with several departments across the agency to assist with creating voiceover copy and securing visual elements for on-air broadcast spots plus online and print recognition.
Assist with the creation of marketing collateral to support fundraising solicitations/presentations.
Verify monthly that all corporate partners are receiving appropriate donor recognition on all platforms: on-air, online and print, and facilitate stewardship touches when appropriate.
Assist with all Commonwealth Fund for KET engagement activities statewide such as fundraising, cultivation and family events. Coordinate volunteer activities in support of these events.
Serve as an ambassador and advocate for KET’s programs and services.
Successful applicants will have the following minimum qualifications, skills, and experience:
Bachelor’s degree plus at least one (1) year of experience in fundraising, sales or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
Must have excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills; a strong work ethic, good judgement and the ability to ensure confidentiality of sensitive matters.
Must be highly organized and able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Self-supporting administrative, marketing and office skills, with proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Proven computer proficiency and database management skills.
Ability to be flexible and work occasional nights and weekends.
